Scoliosis Assessment Process
Assesment and Diagnosis
At the Dubai Scoliosis Program, we conduct a thorough and comprehensive scoliosis assessment to ensure accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment planning. Our assessment process includes several key components.

1. Medical History
The assessment begins with a detailed medical history:
- - Family history: We inquire about any family members with scoliosis, as there can be a genetic component.
- - Developmental history: Information about the patient's growth patterns and onset of puberty is collected.
- - Symptoms: We discuss any pain, discomfort, or functional limitations the patient may be experiencing.
- - Previous treatments: Information about any prior treatments or interventions is gathered.

2. Physical Examination
Our specialists perform a thorough physical examination, which typically includes:
- - Adam's Forward Bend Test: This test helps identify any asymmetry in the trunk and rib cage.
- - Measurement of leg length: To check for any discrepancies that might affect spinal alignment.
- - Assessment of gait and posture: We observe how the patient walks and stands.
- - Neurological examination: To check for any signs of nerve compression or abnormalities.
